Basic Diver (Introductory Dives)
Hawaiian Diving Adventures
Join us for our Basic Diver (Discover Scuba Diving) program and learn the fundamental safety guidelines and skills needed to scuba dive with a dive instructor. Our introductory dives are small groups of one to four people led by an instructor whose primary focus is your safety, comfort, and enjoyment. Larger groups of people can spook the marine wildlife, so our smaller, private charters ensure the best possible experience.
TIMELINE
Start time is 10:00 am sharp, where you will check in at our boat, and start a quick on-shore training session where we review the basic information and skills needed to safely dive and have a fun time. Each dive will last 25-45 minutes depending on your air consumption. Snacks and fresh pineapple are served between dives. Drinking water is also available. You can expect to be back at the dock approximately 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm.

HOW IT WORKS
After the safety briefing and short instructional session, we head out on the boat for the quick ride to our incredible reefs. Your instructor will help you don your dive gear, and you'll jump in with them. After a few quick skills, we'll descend together to about 30' (9m) You will have fun swimming around and exploring while putting those key scuba skills to good use on two shallow reef dives with an instructor right by your side. While not a scuba certification course, Basic Diver (Discover Scuba Diving) is a quick and easy introduction to exploring the underwater world.

WHERE YOU GO & WHAT YOU SEE
On our late morning dive trip we visit two shallow reefs average depth of 30' to 40' (9m-12m) where we will see hundreds, even thousands of colorful reef fish. More than 25% are endemic to Hawaii, meaning they are only found in Hawaii. There is a lot of great coral too, with nearly 40% of our corals endemic to Hawaii. Although wildlife sightings are not guaranteed, there is a great chance you will see other marine life such as eels, sea turtles, rays, octopus, and even dolphins. We see turtles on over 85% of our dives!

WHAT TO BRING
Your wetsuit and all your dive gear is included. You can simply wear a swimsuit that you'll wear under your wetsuit. You'll want to at least bring sunglasses and a towel. A small bag or backpack can be placed on the shelf inside for dry storage. Don't forget your camera too. We have awesome views of Ala Moana and Waikiki from the boat. If you have an underwater camera, such as a GoPro with a Super Suit dive housing, you can bring that too. We do recommend a lanyard for attaching your camera to your wrist so you don't lose it.
