Special Considerations

  • The minimum age is 10 years old.
  • Must be Open Water certified

So Spooky In the Dark

Night and Limited Visibility: the underwater world is completely different at night than during the daytime. Learn how to safely dive and navigate your way across the wreck and reefs at night, or dive in waters where seeing your fins is a luxury!

Students learn how to enter and exit the water while diving at night or in murky conditions, how to use underwater lights and specialized equipment, and how to better communicate with their buddy.

How It Works

Diving at night is very much like diving in the day, except it’s at night. We will do a two tank boat dive where we start our dive as the sun sets. Underwater, you’ll get to learn about light etiquette and the different types of marine life that comes out after dark.

Timeline

Start times do change throughout the year, so pay attention when you book. We meetup about an hour before sunset so we can get tied up before the sun goes down.  After enjoying a beautiful Hawaiian sunset, we splash for two dives.

Night and Limited Visibility Certification

Upon completion of all academic and open water requirements, your instructor will issue the Night and Limited Visibility certification card.

These logged dives and certification will count to your next recognition rating of Advanced Open Water or Master Diver

What To Bring

  • All you need is a swimsuit for the first day: all of the dive gear is included!
    •  If you bring a change of clothes for after class, there are beach showers and restrooms.
  • If you already own personal gear, like mask, snorkels, or fins, bring them. You’ll be more comfortable in your own gear.
  • You can bring a towel, sunglasses & maybe a hat for the boat trips (we have a dry storage area).
  • Bring your underwater camera & its waterproof casing to get the best shots!
  • We provide drinking water, fresh pineapple & snacks, but you can also bring your own.
