Special Considerations

  • The minimum age is 15 years old.
  • Must be Open Water certified
  • You must complete a medical questionnaire and may need a doctor’s approval if you have any disqualifying conditions.
  • When scheduling your dives, allow at least 18 hours after diving before flying. This is important — you cannot fly the same day after scuba diving.

What’s the deepest you’ve ever been?

Demystify the depths and learn about:
  • the practical concerns of going to the maximum recreational no-decompression diving  limits of 130ft/40m deep
  • potential safety issues
  • the increased pressure and the physiological effects on divers
  • how colors and light change as the diver goes deeper
  • preventing decompression sickness
  • preventing nitrogen narcosis
  • planning deep dives
  • making contingency plans
  • using redundant air supplies

How It Works

This course involves three open water dives, but our boat trips are 2 tank dives, so you get a bonus dive…sorry?
For the course, we will do 3 dives to progressively deeper depths. Along the way, we will be collecting data on air consumption, no-deco limits, and the affects of nitrogen narcosis.

This course takes two days.
These days do not need to be consecutive if you have other plan in Hawaii.

Deep Diver Certification

Upon completion of all academic and open water requirements, your instructor will issue the Deep Diver certification card.

These logged dives and certification will count to your next recognition rating of Advanced Open Water or Master Diver

What To Bring

  • All you need is a swimsuit for the first day: all of the dive gear is included!
    •  If you bring a change of clothes for after class, there are beach showers and restrooms.
  • If you already own personal gear, like mask, snorkels, or fins, bring them. You’ll be more comfortable in your own gear.
  • You can bring a towel, sunglasses & maybe a hat for the boat trips (we have a dry storage area).
  • Bring your underwater camera & its waterproof casing to get the best shots!
  • We provide drinking water, fresh pineapple & snacks, but you can also bring your own.
